King Rat

When Singapore surrendered to the Japanese in 1942, the Allied POWs, mostly British but for Example a few Americans, were incarcerated in Changi prison. There were not any walls or barbed-wire fences to the very simple reason that there wasn't any place for the offenders to escape to. Contained one of the offenders could be the American Cpl. King, a wheeler dealer who has managed to set a fairly good life for himself in the camp. While most of the offenders are near starvation and also possess uniforms that come in tatters, King eats well and also has clean clothes to put on every day. King soon creates a friendship with Lt. Peter Marlowean upperclass British officer who is fascinated with King's élan way of lifetime.
