Matador is actually a television series shown and produced between 1982 and 1978. It is located in the fictional town of Korsbæk between 1947 and 1929. It follows the lives of a selection of characters from throughout the social spectrum, focusing specifically on the rivalry between the families of two sailors: The banker Hans Christian Varnæs, a recognized neighborhood instrumental, along with social climber Mads Skjern, that arrives in town as the series opens. The name Matador has been removed from the localised variant of this board game Monopoly the series' name that was tentative. Additionally, in modern mega a"matador" is most often used to refer to a company tycoon, in the series discussing to this personality of Mads Skjern along with also his craftiness as being a self-made entrepreneur. Directed by famous Danish film maker Erik Balling, Matador has been writer Lise Nørgaard's idea who composed Most of the episodes alongside Jens Louis Petersen, Karen Smith and Paul Hammerich.
